REMOVAL Zn(II) IONS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS WITH IONIC LIQUID MODIFIED POLYMER SORBENTS

Project no. 20302 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018

Summary

In particular, the increase in demand for fresh water necessitates the recycling of waste water. The increase in the world's population and the development of industrial applications increase the need for fresh water, while at the same time causing more waste water to be released. In particular, the increase in the need for fresh water makes the recycling of waste water necessary. In addition to classical methods, alternative methods have been used recently. One of these methods is the absorbent resins that connect liquid-liquid extraction to ion exchange and are prepared by the absorption of some environmentally friendly Cyanex 272 organic extractant into polymers. In this study, parameters affecting the elimination of Zn(II) ions in aqueous solutions (optimum sorbent amount, pH, time, balance, foreign ion effects by using essential emulsified resins obtained from the connection of different environmentally friendly organic extractants to macroporous polymers) examined and performed performance comparison with commercial resins. In order to find the optimum ionic liquid concentration, Purolite PAD500 and Purolite MN202 polymer sorbents were synthesized with different ratio Cyanex 272 organic extractant(ionic liquid). When the concentration effect was examined, it was determined that they were compatible with the Langmuir isotherm for all three resins. In order to determine the effect of temperature on Zn (II) ions, Van’t Hoff graphs were drawn at different temperatures (303 K, 313 K, 323K, 333 K) and ?G, ?H and ?S values were determined. In addition, the breakthrough capacity, column capacity, elution efficiency and column availability of the resins were examined for column performance.
