Evaluation of Peri-implant Sulcus Fluid hCAP-18/LL-37 and Proteinase 3 Levels in Peri-Implant Diseases
Project no. 232 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017
Summary
LL-37 is an important antimicrobial peptide in oral cavity. LL-37 peptide is cleaved by proteinase 3 in order to produce mature LL-37. The aim of the present study was to investigate peri-implant sulcus fluid (PISF) LL-37 and proteinase 3 levels in peri-implant diseases. Twenty implants with peri-implantitis, 20 implants with peri-implant mucositis and 20 control implants were included in the study. Clinical parameters including probing depth, modified bleeding index and modified plaque index were assessed in all implants. PISF LL-37 and proteinase 3 levels were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. There were no significant differences in age and gender among the study groups (p>0.05). No difference was found in PISF LL-37 and proteinase 3 levels among the study groups (p>0.05). LL-37 and proteinase 3 in PISF do not seem to have an effect on the pathogenesis of peri-implant diseases.
