DETERMINATION OF SOME SILAGE PROPERTIES OF MIXTURE OF BERSEEM CLOVER (Trifolium alexandrinum L.) AND ANNUAL RYEGRASS (Lolium multiflorum Lam.)
Project no. 21222 · Status: Kapanmış · 2020
Summary
The research was carried out in the experimental areas of Ege University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops. Annual ryegrass (A) (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) and Berseem Clover (BC) Trifolium alexandrinum L.) mixtures 100%(Pure), 80% + 20%, 60% + 40% , 40%+60% and 20 % + 80% ) were carried out in the winter intermediate crop growing period of 2020 in order to determine their effects on silage quality. For this aim; the physical properties of silage (color, odor, structure, DLG) and silage quality properties such as silage loss, dry matter ratio, silage pH, Flieg score, crude protein ratio, crude oil ratio, ADF and NDF were determined. According to the results obtained, when we evaluate based on some silage quality characteristics; As the ratio of Berseem Clover, which is a legume forage crop, increased, some values (pH, Crude Protein ratio) increased in parallel. ADF and NDF were found to be lower in silages with high Berseem Clover. It has been found that the silage quality of the mixtures that will be formed with plain Italian Grass and maximum 40%BC in silages made by mixing Berseem Clover and the grass forage crop Italian Grass at different rates will be high.
