Obtaining Gypsogenin From Gypsohila Arrostii Roots and New Semi-Synthesis Derivatives
Project no. 461 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017
Summary
In this project, first of all, Gypsophila arrostii plant roots were boiled and the Çoven juice was obtained. Acidic and basic hydrolysis processes were applied to the obtained Çoven juice. Subsequently, pure Gypsogenin aglycone was obtained after column chromatography applied to dichloromethane extraction section. Many derivatization studies were carried out on the aldehyde group (C-23) on the Gypsogenin aglycone. Many chromatography methods were used for the purification of pure new semi-synthesis derivatives (B1-B4). The results obtained from ( TLC, UV, IR, LC-MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, APT, HMQC..vb.) these chromatographic methods confirmed the purity of the compounds. In the last stage; microdilution method was preferred for these new Gypsogenin compounds synthesized. The biological activity in vitro tests of the synthesized compounds were evaluated by comparing them with the starting material Gypsogenin. Among these four semi-synthesis compounds synthesized within the scope of the project, it is seen that B1 is effective compared to starting material in gram negative bacteria Bacillus subtilis (ATCC 6633) and Candida albicans (ATCC 90028) yeast. Key words: Gypsogenin, Semi-synthesis, anti microbial activity
