Evaluation Of Surface Color Resistance After Removing Orthodontic Brackets With Primary-Sealant Including TEGDMA And BISGMA
Project no. 20560 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2019
Summary
OBJECTIVE: The aim was to investigate the amount of staining of hybrid layer remaining on enamel surface after removal of bracket from different surface sealant-primers used during bonding. MATERIALS-METHODS: Standard size enamel discs were obtained from 120 bovine teeth and enamel surface was exposed to acrylic (diameter: 3mm, thickness: 3mm, n: 12 / group). Lower incisor brackets were attached to samples using different sealent primers under standard conditions (Control, Icon + Transbond XT Primer, Proseal, Icon + Heliobond, Transbond XT Primer). Specimens stored in water at 36 °C for 24 hours were subjected to 500 cycles of thermal aging (5-55°, 20 second / thermal effect). Brackets were then removed with a standard breaking force and adhesive was cleaned under X10 growth. The samples were then stored in tea and tea + citric acid solution. Spectrophotometer for pre-bracking (T1), post-debonding (T2) and time periods after 8 (T3), 16 (T4) and 24 (T5) hours in coloring solution (tea, tea + citric acid) (Bad Sackingen, Germany). The data were evaluated by Kolmogorov-Smirnoff and ANOVA. RESULTS: In the primary-sealant analysis, no difference was observed between T1-T2, T2-T5, T1-T5 values for ?L, ?a, ?b in both coloring solutions (p >0.05). Intragroup analysis, the difference between T1-T2 for ?L, ?a, ?b values was observed for all primers-sealants(p<0.001), there was no difference between T2-T5 and T1-T5(p >0.05). CONCLUSION: The primary sealants used during the bonding of the brackets cause change of enamel color before the brackets. The resistance of hybrid layer to coloration after removal of bracket is similar. Keywords: Surface Color, Bonding, Hybrid Layer, Sealant-Primers
