DEVELOPMENT OF NANO-POLYMERASE CHAIN ??REACTION (NANO-PCR) BASED METHODS FOR DETERMINATION OF THE DNA OF CLINICAL IMPORTANT BACTERIAL AND FUNGAL PATHOGENS

Project no. 649 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

Multiplex PCR is a more practical and faster method that allows the amplification of multiple target genes at the same time, and is therefore a more convenient method than standard PCR. Nano-PCR is a method that aims to perform DNA amplification more effectively, specifically and precisely as an alternative to conventional PCR. Therefore, it bears the potential for use as a more effective tool in DNA analysis. Within the scope of this project, nanoparticles such as AuNP were studied by nano-PCR for determination of clinically critical pathogen genomic DNA (gDNA). As an alternative to the traditional methods used to identify these pathogenic bacteria and fungi, it was aimed to utilize the physicochemical properties of nanomaterials such as gold nanoparticles (AuNP) and to develop the Nano-PCR method. It was aimed to provide more reliable, more sensitive and specific determination of genomic DNA of pathogen microorganisms by using this feature of nanoparticles compared to other methods.
