Project no. 27407 · Status: Kapanmış · 2023
Summary

Bee venom is one of the valuable bee products obtained from beekeeping activities, has been used in complementary medicine, cosmetics and pharmacology in recent years with its biological activities and different therapeutic effects. In the reviwed literatüre, it has seen that there are not enough studies on the behavioral changes that occur in bee colonies after the collection of bee venom, which can be used in the treatment of many diseases and allows alleviation of symptoms. One of the reasons that the amount of bee venom production which is a bee product with high biological and economic value has not yet reached the desired levels in our country, is that it is not known how the colonies will be affected by the production process. Considering its rich flora and climatic characteristics, Turkiye has a high potential in bee venom production. For this reason, beekeepers in the field need to be informed and their concerns should be resolved about these problems. The findings obtained from studies on the effects of bee venom production on colonies are of great importance for the country's beekeeping and economy. In this study, the effect of the aggresiveness of the colonies to be used in bee venom collection on the amount of venom production, the effect of bee venom production on the aggresive behavior of the colonies, and the effect on colony development before and after the venom production period were examined.
