INVESTIGATION OF OPTOELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS OF LYOTROPIC LIQUID CRYSTALS

Project no. 606 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

Liquid crystal phase is located between the solid and the liquid and therefore can exhibit both the fluidity of liquids and the order properties of solid. This allows liquid crystals to have anisotropy and this anisotropy can be altered depending on the externally applied physical effect. Lyotropic liquid crystals are occurred by solution. Water is generally used as a solvent and surfactant is generally used as a soluble. In this work, refractive index depend on temperature was investigated and also lyotropic mesoporphism depend on external electrical field was studied. Thus validation in the temperature and electric field effect on the lyotropic liquid crystals were determined.
