Effect of Different Nitrogen Doses and Row Spaces on The Silage Yield and Quality Characteristics in SorghumxSudangrass Hybrid (Sorghum bicolor x Sorghum sudanense) Grown as Second Crop

Project no. 1040 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

This research was conducted two years in the fields of Field Crops Department of Faculty of Agriculture of Ege University between 2017-2018. In four nitrogen doses (0, 7.5, 15 and 22.5 kg/da) grown in two row spacings (35 and 70 cm) yield and some quality characteristics (Plant height, fresh matter yield, rate and yield of dry matter, rate of crude ash and crude protein, rate of ADF and NDF) were investigated. Over two year's results, the plant heights 312 and 311 cm, fresh matter yields 5841 and 5126 kg/da, dry matter rates 23.36 and 23.00 %, dry matter yields 1356 and 1762 kg/da, crude ash rates 7.63 and 7.67 %; crude protein rates 7.42 and 7.20 %; ADF rates 48.20 and 4693 % and NDF rates 73.48 and 73.64 % were found for 35 and 70 cm, respectively. The highest fresh matter yield was obtained from 22.5 kg/da N with 7890 kg/da. Keywords : Sorghum bicolor x Sorghum sudanense, Nitrogen doses, row spacing, silage yield, silage quality.
