Summary
<p>It is evident that transforming university campuses—considered as smaller-scale settlements—into smart campuses, as components of smart cities, will not only lay a scientific foundation for the development of smart cities but will also serve as guiding examples of best practices.</p><p><strong>Digital transformation</strong> refers to the technological changes implemented in all areas of life on a university campus and the impacts these changes bring. For instance, thanks to digital transformation, students can now access lecture notes and course materials via their mobile phones or tablets, attend online classes, and submit their assignments electronically.</p><p>Moreover, university administrations can make their operations more efficient by using digital management systems for tasks such as student registration and academic record management. As a result, students can perform more tasks in less time and devote more time to their studies.</p><p>Digital transformation encompasses all technological advancements and their effects within a university setting. Online courses allow students to follow their classes anytime and anywhere. Likewise, it enables students to submit their assignments digitally, which saves time and increases productivity. University administrations also benefit from using digital systems for processes like student registration, grade entries, and other administrative tasks, making overall operations significantly more efficient.</p>
