An investigation on the role of Poly(ADP-ribose)ylation on the regulation of antioxidant defence system in Arabidopsis thaliana under salt stress

Project no. 341 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018

Summary

There is a rapidly growing population and various stresses. It is among the targets of the researchers all over the world by minimizing losses and eliminating the need for more nutrients in crop cultivation. The most important factor limiting product yield is abiotic stress-like salinity. It is an extremely important issue to protect the plants that can live and develop in stressful environments here. Post-translational modifications (PTMs) are one of the first reactions to stress in plants, which involve altering the location and activity of proteins within the cell. The addition of poly (ADP-ribose) (PAR) to proteins, i.e., poly (ADP-ribose) ligation (PARylation), is a post-translation modification of PAR polymerases (PARP) from NAD + and ADP-ribose binding to target proteins. This modification can be recycled by PAR glycolhydrolase (PARG) by hydrolyzing and separating PAR polymers from proteins. You will be able to play a role in many physiological events such as circadian rhythm and response to abiotic and biotic stress. Environmental factors increase the accumulation of reactive oxygen species in the plant. The accumulation of ROS species in the plant was severely damaged leading to apoptosis. Antioxidant defense responses of plants are activated to sweep ROS species. Design of enzymatic antioxidant system is superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POX), catalase (CAT), glutathione reductase (GR), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), NADPH oxidase (NOX) enzyme, antioxidant and best In this project, salt stress of PARILATION will be aimed at establishing antioxidant defense system in A. thaliana. At these prices, the use of salt stress in PARs with and without PARs, SOD, CAT, POX, GR, APX, NOX enzyme activities and non-enzymatic antioxidants, ascorbate and glutathione amounts were measured.
