Investigation of changes in blood biochemistry after stent placement in endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysm
Project no. 22623 · Status: Kapanmış · 2021
Summary

It was aimed to reveal the thrombotic and hemolytic changes in blood biochemistry caused by stent-assisted embolization of intracranial aneurysms.

Total 81 patients with non-bleeding aneurysms were treated with stent-assisted embolization. Biochemical markers of intravascular thrombosis, fibrinolysis and hemolysis were evaluated in all the patients.

In general, a statistically significant decrease in ind bil, fibrinogen, hemoglobin and thrombocyte counts, and an increase in D-dimer levels were found in the patients.

It has been revealed that a thrombotic and fibrinolytic state occurs in patients, especially in large aneurysms treated with coil-filling, which is accompanied by concomittant hemolysis and reduces hemoglobin levels.
