ANALYSIS OF THE PROPERTIES OF FUNCTIONAL GOALKEEPER SHIRTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary
As in all sports, the characteristics of the jerseys used by the football players in the football sport, which has the highest rate of view in the world, is extremely important for the comfort of this sport. In this project, it is aimed to investigate various materials in order to examine and develop the goalkeeper jerseys which are different from the jerseys used by other football players. During the researches, the jerseys used by goalkeepers and the materials used in these jerseys were taken into consideration. In all sports, the goal of the goalkeepers is to protect the areas by not allowing the balls sent by the opponent to pass to their own protected areas. When the ball is sent by the opponent as quickly as possible and / or to the hard-to-reach parts of the goal, the goalkeeper must jump or fly in order to respond to these balls. The movements that goalkeepers have to perform due to their duties (jumping, flying, lying, creeping, etc.) cause their bodies to hit the ground and be exposed to various impacts. In this project, material research that can be used instead of sponges used for protection of all goalkeeper jerseys against mechanical effects has been made and various tests (impact, hardness, resilience, etc.) have been carried out. The values obtained were compared with the values obtained from the sponges. By analyzing these values, goalkeeper jerseys were redesigned with the new material that has better values than the sponge.
