EXAMINING MULTIDIMENSIONAL SCALE IN VIEW OF UNIDIMENSIONAL AND MULTIDIMENSIONAL GRADED RESPONSE MODEL
Project no. 673 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016
Summary
The aim of this project is to compare polytomous multidimensional structures based on multidimensional and unidimensional analysis methods. For this purpose, Teachers' Sense of Efficaey Scale (TSES), which has been proven to be multidimensional was used. The scale consists of 24 items with nine categories and 3 sub-dimensions. Data was collected from 1453 individuals with this scale. The data obtained from the multidimensional scale was modeled using unidimensional graded response model and multidimensional graded response model. Pearson Moments Correlation Coefficient, RMSE and bias values calculated. Model data fit indices were calculated in the comparison of the item and individual parameters obtained as a result of the analyzes. The findings revealed that using unidimensional and multidimensional graded response models in measuring multidimensional psychological structures gives similar results in estimeting item parameters. It has been demonstrated that the multidimensional graded response model provides better ability estimation for multidimensional structures than the unidimensional graded response model.
