Summary
Data Envelopment Analysis is used when it is difficult to measure the relative effectiveness of organizational decision-making units due to the large number of similar inputs and outputs. It is a linear programming-based method for evaluating the relative effectiveness of decision points responsible for delivering output or output in such a situation. In this study, firstly Data Envelopment Analysis is emphasized. Then, in this analysis, the most commonly used CCR = CRS (Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes), BCC = VRS (Banker, Charnes and Cooper) and Additive Methods were emphasized. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of Data Envelopment Analysis, and its applicability in the field of aquaculture were emphasized. In this study firstly, entered the Fortune 500 in Turkey, which have sufficient data and the last nine years (2009-2017) relative activities of 10 companies operating in the fisheries sector were measured using financial inputs and outputs. Relative effectiveness scores were obtained by examining the financial inputs and outputs of the companies that are in Fortune 500 and operating in the fisheries sector. In the second part of the study, in order to reveal the technical efficiency and the ineffective ones resulting from the scale, DEA models including the The input-oriented CCR and BCC model were formed and the above procedures were repeated. Finally, it was investigated whether or not an investment system based on DEA could be established. DEAFrontier and DEA Solver (Data Envelopment Analysis Solver) software, one of the special software of Data Envelopment Analysis, were used in the solution of models using data envelopment analysis. As a result of the study, the average efficacy percentage was 88% for CCR and 93% for BBC. For the data for 2009-2017: 6 firms were found to be active according to CCR model, while 7 companies were found to be effective according to BCC model. In addition, the targets have been determined in order to enable the firms that are not active.
