Evaluation of the Glide Path Preparation Efficiency of Three Different Nickel Titanium Systems in Maxillary First Molars with Micro Computerized Tomography

Project no. 22902 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2021

Summary

The aim of this project was to evaluate the efficiency of three different Ni-Ti systems on transportation and centering ratio in maxillary molar teeth using micro-computerized tomography. In the present project, 45 extracted maxillary first molars were randomly divided into three groups according to the selected glide path system. Root canal lengths were determined with 8# and 10# K-files (Vdw Dental, Munich, Germany). The initial micro-CT images were obtained. Glide path procedures were performed using WaveOne Gold Glider (Dentsply Sirona, Ballaigues, Switzerland), TruNatomy Glider (Dentsply Sirona, Ballaigues, Switzerland) and Vdw Rotate Glider (Vdw Dental, Munich, Germany) Ni-Ti rotary file systems and final micro-CT images were obtained. Measurements were made on the cross sections. The amount of transportation and the centering ratio were evaluated. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of centering abilities in MB2 and distal canals (p>0.05). A statistically significant difference was observed between VDW ROG and TNG groups in terms of centering abilities in MB canal (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of the transportation at different millimeters in MB, MB2 and distal canals (p>0.05). When the files were compared within themselves at 3, 5 and 7 mm, statistically significant differences were found in the transportation (p<0.05). No file fractures occured in the groups. Within the limitations of the present study; WOGG, TNG and VDW ROG can be used safely for glide path.
