Özet
Background: The Cholesterol-Lowering Diet Self-Efficacy Scale-SF scale is simple and use with cardiac patients. Aims: To evaluate the validity, reliability, and cultural relevance of the Turkish version of Cholesterol-Lowering Diet Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form (CLDSES-SF) Methods: The Turkish version of CLDSES-SF was developed according to cross-cultural guidelines by using the “translation-back translation” method and an expert panel. In the CLDSES-SF validity study, language validity, content validity and criterion-related validity were tested. In the reliability study Cronbach's Alpha and item-total score correlation were calculated. Measurement performance was tested 110 randomly selected cardiac patients. Thirty participants from primary group completed the CLDSES-SF for test-retest reliability after 2 weeks. Results: Six items were modified as suggested by the expert panel. The samples were, middle age (>51 years), married male. Internal consistency for the CLDSES-SF was 0.94 and 2 week temporal stability was 0.96. The inter-correlation coefficients among the items ranged from 0.23 to 0.68. The highest mean score was for item 17 (?: 78.6) and lowest mean scores was for item 12 (?: 40.70).
