Özet
Ultrasound is one of the most widely used med- ical imaging techniques. Traditional ultrasound images repre- sents the object's backscattering properties, which limits the imaging contrast. Hybrid imaging techniques such as photo- acoustic imaging, electro-acoustic imaging etc. have been de- veloped to enhance the contrast in ultrasound imaging. Re- cently, physiological-level electrical-field induced mechanical changes(EIMC) have been investigated in various tissues using ultrasound imaging method [1]. These changes are suggested to be attributed to the electrokinetic effects in tissues. The objective of this study is to monitor the EIMC in ultrasound phantoms and investigate the dependence of EIMC on the amplitude of the applied electric field, the concentration of the gelling agents, and the conductivity of the phantoms. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
