By-catch in Tasucu Bay (Eastern Mediterranean) shrimp trawls

Özet
The aim of this study is to determine the by-catch level for shrimp trawls in the Tasucu Bay (Eastern Mediterranean). 32 hauls were done by three commercial shrimp trawlers, were carried out in legal fishing areas, by using traditional shrimp trawl nets, which have 400 meshes around the mouth and 44 mm mesh opening in the codend. 32 trawl samples were composed of 118.5 (6 %) kg target catch, 317 (17 %) kg incidental catch and 1.420 (77 %) kg discards.
