Özet

Advanced tissue losses are complications that prevent the placement of traditional fixed prostheses. Hybrid prostheses, which fall under the category of implant-supported-fixed-prostheses, are a recommended treatment option for patients experiencing both vertical and horizontal tissue loss. With hybrid prostheses, aesthetic and functional impairments of the patient can be addressed. This case report outlines the treatment phases and follow-up sessions an upper hybrid-lower-fixed-prosthesis for a patient who experienced dissatisfaction due to incorrect planning. The patient, whose teeth were extracted due to headaches, had fixed prostheses supported by two implants each on the upper and lower jaws, presented to our clinic with aesthetic and functional complaints. Following radiological and intraoral examinations, a total of 12 implants were placed, with an additional four implants each in the both jaws. Hybrid prostheses were made for the upper jaw, and fixed prostheses were made for the lower jaw. The patient has been under 7-years of follow-up care, and their aesthetic and functional expectations have been met. It has been presented in many studies that the combined vertical and horizontal bone loss, can be overcome with hybrid prostheses that can easily replace tooth deficiencies and soft tissues in this region. Research has shown that hybrid prostheses yield successful outcomes. It can restore aesthetics and function to the edentulous jaw with high patient satisfaction and relatively low cost.
