Özet
This study investigates 900 meshes traditional bottom trawl net developed by fishermen and used in the Aegean Sea. Overall plan of the trawl net is given according to format used in FAO catalogues. Technical plan of the net was drawn by the original data collected from the nets used by commercial trawlers in 2004. 900 meshes trawl is relatively larger in size with longer head line and ground rope than the other nets. The main differences of this net are shape of tapering at wings and use of PE material in almost entire net. Although the construction of the traditional bottom trawl net is continuously modified by the trawlers with experience, there is a need for further studies to improve performance and efficiency of these nets.
