Özet
Denim garments, which were in demand for durable and long-lasting fabrics, maintained their position among fashion trends over the years as a symbol of comfort, style, and sometimes freedom. The yarns used in denim fabrics also differ with the diversification of the performance and appearance characteristics expected from garments over the years. The fiber type, yarn structure, and fabric production techniques change, but the preference for denim clothes by people of all ages and from all walks of life never changes. In this study, the commonly preferred yarn types in denim fabrics and their production methods will be reviewed. The types of fiber used in denim fabrics differ depending on the end use purpose, climatic conditions, and priority requirements. For example, while technical yarns with high abrasion resistance are preferred for motorcycle drivers, regenerated cellulose fibers are used to provide comfort if they are to be used in summer. Besides, the yarn properties to be used in denim fabrics also differ depending on the performance features expected by the users, productivity, and cost analyses of the manufacturers. According to the prioritized performance feature, rotor, ring, slub, single-core, or double-core yarns are used as both weft and warp yarns.
