Summary

We performed a prospective study of FVII inhibitor\noccurrence in a large number of patients with FVII\ndeficiency who had received replacement therapy for\nspontaneous or traumatic bleeding episodes, major or\nminor surgical interventions or prophylaxis.Inhibitor development was detected in 2.6% (3/115)\nof patients, but the incidence of de novo inhibitors\nwas 0.8% (1/115). Thus, in this rare bleeding disorder,\nthe development of FVII inhibitors is a very rare\ncomplication as rare as that reported in patients with\nhaemophilia B (prevalence of 2–3%)
