Özet

Gunshot wounds have high mortality and morbidity which mostly cause by firearms and rarely sharp objects. Understanding the factors that control the extent of hard-soft tissue damage may provide diagnosis or treatment of injuries related wound ballistics [1]. Currently, forensic pathologists investigate the patterns of tissue injuries related to gunshots experimentally and they categorized them as contact, intermediate and distant range shooting. Recent technological developments in computer visualization, numerical methods and machine learning algorithms may help to forensic scientists to understand the biomechanical mechanisms of wounds ballistics computationally. Here, we explore to use of the finite element (FE) method results coupled with machine learning algorithms to develop a novel approach for forensic science applications.
