Studies on The Seed Yield and Some Agronomic Traits of Newly-Developed Chickpea Lines Under Bornova ConditionIn this research, the seed yield and some agronomic traits of newlydeveloped eight kabuli chickpea lines and two cultivars grown at Bornova in İzmir during three years (1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000) in winter sowing were studied.Results from the combined analysis of variance indicated that there were significant differences among both years and genotypes for all traits studied.The genotype x year interactions were found to be significant for all of traits.Genotype means for seed yield, 100-seed weight, plant height, harvest index and seed yield per plant varied between 123.3-221.5 kg/da, 40.1-44.5 g, 60.7-68.4cm, 34.4-42.4% and 11.1-13.9g, respectively.The five lines yielded more than 200 kg/da and the differences for seed yield among these lines were not significant.It was concluded that the promising two lines could be grown in winter sowing under temperate conditions.
