Özet

bilig has been indexed by the Social Sciences Citation Index since 2008. This study examines bilig and the bibliometric features of its publications in citation indexes. The following research questions are addressed: 1) What are the institutional affiliations of the authors of the publications? 2) Is multiple authorship a prevalent feature of the publications? 3) Which types of sources (books, journal articles, etc.) get cited more often in the publications? 4) What are the most frequently cited journals in bilig? 5) What is the rate of literature obsolescence in bilig? Moreover, this study examines the relationships among the cited authors in bilig by using social network analysis method. In conclusion, it is found that almost all of the publications are written in Turkish. An important part of the contributors is affiliated with Gazi, Hacettepe and Başkent Universities. Books receive 65% of all citations in bilig. Half of the sources cited in bilig have been published in the last 16 years. © Ahmet Yesevi University Board of Trustees.
