Özet

The study presents the olive tree pruning (OTP) gasification, combining biomass gasification and tar reforming. The gasification was carried out a two- stage steam gasification. Temperature-programmed thermal steam gasification of OTP was performed at 200−850 °C, followed by the thermal gasification of volatiles (including tar) at different temperatures (600-850 °C). The main objective of this study is to lower the temperature of the second bed where the tar cracking causes the hydrogen production to increase. In this context, the temperature of the second bed temperature was fixed at 600 °C in catalytic gasification. The activated red mud based nickel catalyst (Ni-ARM) and plasma treated Ni-ARM catalsyst (P-NiARM) were used as a catalytic bed material. The Ni-ARM catalysts were prepared at different Ni loadings (0 - 10wt%). The catalytic activity of catalysts was in the order of ARM > Ni-ARM > P-Ni-ARM in terms of hydrogen production. The maximum hydrogen yields obtained at the same temperature conditions were 972 mL/g OTP for the ARM catalyst, 893 mL/g OTP for Ni (7.5 %)-ARM catalyst, 791 mL/g OTP for P-Ni (10 %)-ARM catalyst and 748 mL/g OTP for thermal run.
