A questionnaire consisting of 28 questions was used to collect the research data. Data were analyzed by number-percentage. In order to carry out the research, the permission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey for COVID-19 scientific research and the permission of the ethics committee were obtained.

Results: The mean age of the participants was 30.64±4.69, and the mean week of gestation was 23.90±9.94. The most common practices of the participants to protect themselves from COVID-19 are, respectively; mask, gloves etc. using protective equipment (92.2%), paying attention to social distance, not entering the crowd (88.7%) and washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds (77.5%). It was determined that 60.3% of the participants had heard of HCM methods and obtained information about this issue mostly from the internet/TV/newspaper. 29.4% of the participants have used HCM before, and 21.6% have used HCM methods against COVID-19. The HCM methods most frequently used by the participants for protection from COVID-19 are respectively; bee products (Apitherapy) such as propolis, honey, royal jelly, pollen (15.2%) and herbal products (13.7%). The plants used by the participants for protection from COVID-19 are mostly linden, lemon, ginger, turmeric and sage; The reason why HCM methods for COVID-19 are preferred most is that the method is natural and healthy (19.6%).

Discussion and Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was determined that pregnant women followed three important rules in protection from COVID-19, more than half had heard of HCM methods, but only one-fourth of them applied. It is recommended that healthcare professionals who care for pregnant women question the use of HCM, provide training and counseling on safe use and possible side effects, and focus on evidence-based studies on HCM methods that can be used during pregnancy.
