Summary

The Effects of Fungicides Applications on Anatomical Structures and Physiology of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) In this study, two fungicides namely Acrobat (9% dimethomorf+60% mancozeb) and Sandofan (10%oxadixyl+ 56%mancozeb) were pulverized at label doses on tomato plants in greeenhouses in Fethiye, Muğla where tomato are grown extensively and economically. Then, their likely effects on anatomical and physiological structures of the tomatoes were examined in both treated and untreated plants. In conclusion, both fungicide applications resulted in decreasing in stomata index, cross section layer thickness of leaf and stem. In addition, quantities of indol asetic acid (IAA) and abscisic acid (ABA) which are endogen hormones in fruit were also analyzed significantly less than that of untreated plants. Moreover, abnormal stomata were observed in the leaves applied with both fungicides. Deformations in palisade and spongy paranchyma cells at cross sections of leaves were found as well.

Key words: Fungicide, Anatomy, Hormone, Lycopersicon esculentum Mill., Tomato
