Özet

Hydrogen is an important compound for petroleum refining, the production of steel, concrete, and important chemicals. Hydrogen is used as a reactant in hydrogenation processes to saturate unsaturated compounds or mainly remove sulphur, nitrogen, oxygen, and metals and convert higher molecular weight compounds into lower. The petrochemical industry's manufacturing of methanol is one of hydrogen's most significant uses. The hydrogenation of benzene, caprolactam production, catalytic reduction of nitrobenzene are the most common applications in petrochemical production with use of hydrogen. By hydrogenating molten plastic and converting it to low molecular weight molecules as a cutting-edge technology, hydrogen contributes to the recycling of plastic.
