Summary

Global economic and environmental changes, together with increasing food demand, necessitate making agricultural production systems more efficient, sustainable, and resilient. In this context, digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotic systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles offer significant opportunities. Digital agricultural technologies contribute to improving production efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, reducing production costs, and promoting sustainable agricultural production. Despite these advantages, however, the adoption of these technologies by farmers has not yet reached the desired level in many countries. The adoption of digital Technologies cannot be explained solely by economic factors; rather, it is influenced by a wide range of determinants, including farmers' attitudes, personality traits, social environment, educational level, farm characteristics, perceptions of technology, and institutional support. The aim of this study is to evaluate the existing literature on the adoption of digital technologies in agriculture, identify the key factors influencing technology adoption, and examine policy recommendations for promoting the adoption of digital agricultural technologies. To achieve this objective, the study reviews the literature on technology acceptance models, farmer typologies, the individual, social, economic, and technological factors affecting the adoption of digital technologies, as well as the barriers to adoption. In addition, recommendations concerning infrastructure investments, financial incentives, education and agricultural extension services, data security, and targeted policy interventions are examined. The study demonstrates that technological advancements alone are insufficient to promote the adoption of digital agricultural technologies. Instead, there is a need for comprehensive policy approaches that recognize farmer heterogeneity, enhance perceived benefits, strengthen education and agricultural extension services, expand financial support mechanisms, and improve rural digital infrastructure.

Keywords: Digital Agriculture, Technology Adoption, Farmers' Attitudes, Agricultural Extension
