Özet
Lignocellulosic materials, derived from plant biomass, are pivotal in the arena of sustainable bioenergy. They are primarily composed of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, which provide a plentiful and sustainable feedstock for the production of biofuel. Their importance in the future of bioenergy lies in their widespread availability, low cost, and lower impact on the environment than fossil fuels. Using lignocellulosic biomass to produce biofuels is a key strategy in addressing the world's energy needs while mitigating climate change impacts. The chapter provides an in-depth exploration of the pretreatment and bioconversion processes for biomass residues from both edible and nonedible crops. It discusses the structural complexities of lignocellulose, emphasizing its role in producing renewable energy from biomass with efficiency. The chapter outlines various technological advancements and methodologies, highlighting their environmental and economic implications. It also examines the challenges in biomass waste disposal and presents sustainable solutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of renewable energy sources and environmental conservation.
