Summary

Education in the twenty-first century is increasingly understood as a complex, relational, and multidimensional process shaped by interactions among students, educators, institutions, technologies, and broader sociocultural environments. Traditional perspectives that conceptualised learning primarily as an individual cognitive process have progressively given way to systemic and interactional frameworks that recognise the central importance of context, emotions, and social mediation. The contributions included in this Research Topic both re ect and advance this shift by examining how diverse forms of interaction and intersection shape learning, wellbeing, and educational development across educational levels and contexts. Taken together, the studies in this collection provide a comprehensive view of contemporary educational research. More importantly, they collectively point to a central claim that underpins this Research Topic: education is increasingly best understood as a relational and interactional system in which learning, wellbeing, and development emerge from dynamic interactions across multiple levels. Despite their methodological and contextual diversity, these contributions converge on a shared understanding that educational processes cannot be fully interpreted without considering the relationships that sustain and structure them.
