Summary
<p>Democrat Party was established on 7 January 1946 for serving to democracy, as a natural consequence of socio-economic developments in Turkey in the time of Second World War and after. Democrat Party’s economic policy has been determined as a statist since the party program it established and it has been determined as a tendency towards liberalism based on development by private enterprise. The revival of great change and that it is applied in the best way this policy area in Turkey’s economy has been agriculture.</p> <p>In this study, the policies and practices in the field of agriculture during the ten-year period between when it came to power by free choice on the year 14 May 1950 and when the Democrat Party was removed from power by a military coup on the year 27 May 1960, will be discussed. In the preparation of the study, Turkish and English archival documents from the original sources of the period and newspapers and magazines of the period as well as academic studies published on this subject were utilized.</p>
