Summary
For recording stimulus evoked potentials in neurology and ophtalmology clinics and electrophysiology laboratories dedicated and expensive equipment and peripherals are used. Such systems are not usually adaptable for use in slightly different variants of the intended application. While working with pattern shift visual evoked potentials in our laboratory, we developed a new triggering method to record visually evoked potentials using phototransistors, a system incorporating two ordinary personal computers, one for pattern generation and the other for signal recording as described in this study.
