Özet
This study is new because it includes analysis for the determination of the sources of problems, especially in the context of the main factors of distance education. In other words, we tried to get to the root of the problem by considering the sources of problems in distance education in context with the people or units involved in distance education. Since it is the first study conducted for this age group, we hope it will contribute to better planning for distance education by the education stakeholders. We carried out this study in the general survey model based on quantitative research. We used a two-stage unbiased sampling method to determine the study group. Within this context, the study group consists of 636 distance-learning students at Ataturk Anatolian High School, which is one of the project schools in Izmir in the 2020-2021 academic year. In addition, we developed the “The Scale of Problem Sources in Distance Education (SPSDE)” to reveal the opinions of high school students. According to the results of the research, the students perceived the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and themselves as the source of problems the most in distance education. The Ministry of National Education should improve the competence of substructure and superstructure related to distance education. Teachers should be given training on the design of distance education and instruction.
