Summary

Dyes and chemicals used in textile finishing processes generate environmentally harmful wastewater. The magnitude of the problem becomes evident, particularly considering the toxic and carcinogenic effects of these dyes and chemicals. With the increasing environmental awareness, research on the removal of color from wastewater has gained even more importance. In this study, the removal of reactive dye using reduced graphene oxide via adsorption was investigated, and the effects of process parameters (dye concentration, adsorbent dosage, and temperature) on color removal were evaluated. As a result of the conducted experiments, over 80% color removal was achieved with reduced graphene oxide. It was observed that an increase in adsorbent dosage and temperature led to higher color removal efficiencies.
