irradiation hastens the naturally occurring process of arteriosclerosis and found that these changes could be induced in young animals.This was also found by Gold (7), but the rapidity of the changes in our patient makes such an explanation exceedingly unlikely.This neurologically devastating complicatiori is fortunately extremely rare.The cases described in the literature (including that of our patient) do not shed light on etiology.risk factors, or measures of prevention.
