Özet

Abstract: Among the fundamentals of modern industry are material relationships and product design. Everything that is used has a quality that extends beyond its appearance and functioning. It also has an important impact on the right choice of materials and how well they work with the product's design. A product's performance, durability, usability, environmental effect, sustainability, and many other factors are determined by the material choice. Additionally, the material has a significant impact on the product's cost, marketing, and production processes. As such, it is critical to understand that during the product design process, material selection is a strategic decision. This article discusses the significance of the relationship between product design and material and how this relationship can be optimized.

The external appearance and visual appeal of the product are directly influenced by the material choice in terms of aesthetics. The material's brightness, color, and texture all influence how likely it is that consumers will decide on the product. It is also necessary to consider the effects of material choices on the environment into consideration. By consuming fewer resources and minimizing waste, sustainable materials may have a positive impact on the environment.

Consequently, material selection is crucial at every level of the product design process, and it greatly influences the product's success. While adopting materials for a design, designers need to consider its intended usage, aesthetic requirements, manufacturing processes, and environmental effects. Balancing factors such as sustainability, aesthetics, and usability lead to good product design and material relations.

Keywords: Material interactions, Design decision, Strategic material selection, Product design, Industrial design
