Özet
A series of novel tridentate N-donor Pd(II) complexes were synthesized and evaluated as catalysts for tandem Suzuki-Miyaura coupling/transfer hydrogenation reactions. The complexes were designed to facilitate the formation of biaryl alcohols and biaryl ketones from aryl halides and arylboronic acids. Among the synthesized complexes, 4b exhibited the highest catalytic activity, achieving complete conversion of 4-bromoacetophenone and phenylboronic acid to the corresponding transfer hydrogenated tandem product. The catalytic performance was attributed to the unique electronic and steric properties of the complex. Detailed mechanistic studies revealed the formation of a Pd-hydride intermediate during the transfer hydrogenation step. This work provides valuable insights into the design and optimization of Pd-based catalysts for tandem reactions and contributes to the development of efficient and sustainable synthetic methods.
