Özet
The main purpose of this planned study is to determine the biodiversity of click beetles (Coleoptera: Elateridae) living in or on the soil layer, which have generally more limited mobility compared to other flying insects, and for which no faunistical research has been conducted to reveal their situation in Ege University Bornova Campus, Izmir, Turkey until today. Field practices were carried out between January and December 2019 throughout the year. These practices were carried out in sixteen habitats, which were evaluated categories as agricultural and non-agricultural areas. Habitats where olive, pomegranate, fig, vine and mandarin orchards are grown have created agricultural areas. Other areas are stone pine, eucalyptus / stone pine mixed area, cypress, christ’s thorn, grasses and in-stream habitats. As a result of this study, using ethylene glycol pitfall traps placed in the soil, a total of 12 click beetle species belonging to 8 genera were determined. Among them, Aeoloides atricapillus (Germar, 1824) was evaluated as the first record for İzmir fauna. The most common species in the study area were Drasterius bimaculatus (Rossi, 1790) and Melanotus fusciceps (Gyllenhal, 1817).
