Özet
Investigation of the selectivity of monoflament gillnets used in Annular Sea Bream fishing (Diplodus annularis L., 1758) in Izmir Bay (Aegean Sea).Annular sea bream (Diplodus annularis L., 1758) is one of the most abundant species among demersal fisheries in Izmir Bay (Aegean sea).Selection curves of gill nets of 26-27-28 mesh size (nominal bar length) for annular sea bream are calculated using Holt (1963) methods. The optimum catch lengths of Annular sea bream in 26-27 and 28 mm mesh size were 12.66-13.15and 13,64 cm, respectively.Estimated values of common selection factor and common standard deviation were 4.872 and 0.693, respectively.Lenghts at first maturity of Annular Sea Bream in Izmir Bay were compared with the optimum catching lenghts of the monofilament gill nettings create a catching pressure on the Annular Sea Bream sources in Izmir Bay.On the other hand, gillnets of 27 and 28 mm do not cause such a problem at all.
