Özet

This study was carried out to determine the effects of heat stress on dairy goats. Three groups were formed from 30 Saanen goats young, middle, and old. In May, June, July, and August, some physiological parameters of these groups were followed and blood samples were taken. In these examples; triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), Cortisol (CORT), and Heat Shock Protein 70 (HSP70) levels were determined. In the study, besides the hormones, the animals’ bodyweight (BW), body condition score (BCS), heart rate (HR), pulse rate (PR), respiratory rate (RR), and rectal temperature (RT) were also determined. In goats, the lowest T4 value was obtained in August (63.21 nmol/L) and in the older group (70.74 nmol/L), the highest CORT value was obtained in August (5.16 ng/ml), and the young

group (4.96 ng/ml). The lowest HSP70 value was observed in May (12.55 ng/mL) and the older group (13.74 ng/mL), and the highest HR was observed in August (114.47 beats/min) and the young group (115.78 beats/min). BW was most shaped in August (69.81 kg) and in the middle age group (71.39 kg). Although the highest temperature-humidity index was measured in July (THI: 28.51), the most affected by stress was in August. As a result, the effects of age groups and months on the analysed features were found to be statistically significant (P<0.05). In this study, the negative effects of heat stress on animals were emphasized once again, and current solution strategies for global warming were mentioned.
