Özet

<p>Tendon transfer procedure is repositioning a functional muscle-tendon unit to regain lost function and movement in the limb. In current clinical practice, the most common indication for tendon transfers is peripheral nerve damage which have no healing potential. To obtain a functional limb, should be main goal of such procedures. Before tendon transfer surgery, patients should undergo a careful physical examination, it should be examined which functions of the limb are lost and which functions are preserved. Additionally, blood supply of the extremities, sensory examination, joint contractures, old incisions, and scar tissues should be examined because all the listed factors above could affect the success of the treatment. Certain variables should be kept in mind about tendon transfers. Joint range of motion, soft tissue balance, muscle strength and possible loss of function due to donor muscle, direction of transfer, synergy between remaining and transferred muscles and how many functions to transfer. Proper rehabilitated tendon transfers in accordance with these principles will help to have a functional limb again.&nbsp;<br></p>
