Summary

In this research, whether the effectiveness of mancozeb and chlorothalonil used for control of anthracnose of chickpea caused economical losses in chickpea growing area of Turkey, were affected from washing after applications alone and mixture with a plant activator or not were studied, and also mancozeb residue analyses had been carried out. Mancozeb applications alone had 64.42 % efficacy while chlorothalonil alone gave 54.46 % effects in pot conditions. However the best control of the disease were obtained from the mixture of mancozeb and Humifortre N 6 applications with 74.71 % and 74.95 %effectiveness, respectively even after washing plants at 10 hours of applications. The results of residueanalyses were also supported these findings. After 10 hours from applications according to the residue analyses results from the chickpea plants washed after 10 hours from applications, 90 ppm mancozeb residue was determined while 10.3 ppm mancozeb residue was found on the leaves of the chickpea plants applied mancozeb only. In conclusion, the results showed that, mancozeb was washed out almostcompletely from the plants applied mancozeb alone , on the other hand, it was proven that the amount of mancozeb residue in the plants after application with plant activator was effective to control the disease even after washing. To prevent the contact effective fungicides from washing and to maintain their effectiveness, mixture applications with plant activators such as Humiforte N 6 will be beneficial in control of chickpea anthracnose.

Keywords: Ascochyta rabiei (Pass.)
