Özet
In this study, it has been discussed usage possibilities of Izmir municipal treated wastewater as irrigation water in Menemen Plain instead of discharging to the sea. With this goal, suitability to irrigation of Izmir municipal wastewater treated by biological treatment system has been investigated in terms of certain irrigation water quality parameters in accordance with Water Pollution Control Statute and literature related in this subject. As a result, Izmir municipal treated wastewater exceeds tolerance limits for many crops the point of view of total salt, electrical conductivity, dissolved solids, sodium adsorption rate, exchangeable sodium percentage and chloride. So the treated wastewater with this quality can not be used in irrigation.
