Summary

<p>Health communication is a multidisciplinary concept that focuses on enabling individuals and communities to access, understand and effectively use health-related information. Globalization and digitalization have led to significant transformations in the health sector and the delivery of health services, making health communication a critical element shaping health behaviors. Health communication is a process that is not only limited to the transfer and sharing of health information, but also improves the effectiveness and accessibility of health services by increasing health literacy. In this study, health communication is discussed from a conceptual perspective. The study first examines the definition and basic components of health communication and then analyzes its effects at individual, social and institutional levels. The study also touches upon the changing role of health communication in the digital age and draws attention to the transformative impact of digital platforms on health communication and the importance of social media in the dissemination of health information. The link between health communication and health literacy is the main discussion area of the study. This study reveals that the success of health communication depends on the development of strategies appropriate to the health literacy level of the target audience and the effective use of digital technologies.
