Özet

The damage rates caused by different numbers (3, 6, 9 and 12) of Eurydema ornatum (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) adults were investigated on cauliflower and white and red cabbages. The experiment was carried out in the laboratory at 25+1oC, 55+5 % RH and 16:8 hours of light and dark period conditions. Seedlings with 5-6 leaves grown in pots were placed in jars individually and infested with the different numbers of E. ornatum to feed for 24+1 hours. The numbers of feeding spots caused by E. ornatum on leaves were recorded to evaluate the damage rates. The numbers of spots on white cabbage leaves were significantly different and ranged from 19.35 to 45.20. On cauliflower, the numbers of spots caused by different number of bugs differed significantly and ranged from 20.87 to 50.20. Similarly, the numbers of spots were significantly different on red cabbage and ranged between 5.25 and 14.93. The overall evaluation of the spot numbers on all of the plants indicated that 36.91 % of the spots occurred on the plants exposed to 12 individuals, while 28.32 % spots occurred when exposed to 9, 20.18 % to 6 and 14.59% to 3 individuals. By Duncan test the results indicated that in general, the numbers of spots on leaves increased as the numbers of the insects increased and cauliflower and white cabbage were equally preferred by E. ornatum, while they were preferred over red cabbage.
