Özet

Turkey holds an important position in mariculture, and trials regarding the culture of various alternative fish species are carried out almost annually. Problems encountered in field trials can shed light on issues experienced by countries where mariculture is still developing. Tenacibaculosis is an important disease caused by Tenacibaculum maritimum which affects fingerlings and juvenile marine fish including sea bass, sea bream, and other species. In our research, T. Maritimum was detected in the following seven different fish species, sea bream, sea bass, meagre, turbot, corb, sharpsnout sea bream, and snapper. This is also an initial report of T. maritimum isolation from turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) and corb (Umbrina cirrosa) in Turkey.
