Özet
This chapter discusses digital documentation and its opportunities and challenges in ECEC. It begins by defining pedagogical documentation and related concepts, including pedagogy of listening, children's voices and making learning visible. Pedagogical documentation involves listening to children's learning and engaging in dialogues to co-construct meanings. Over the past decade, documentation in ECEC has increasingly shifted to digital platforms due to technological advancements. Various forms are presented, including e-portfolios and mobile documentation. The chapter discusses the benefits, such as increasing children's participation and agency, promoting their voices through visual features, strengthening communication among teachers, children and parents and facilitating home-settings connections. It critically explores challenges, including issues of equity, teachers' limited time, privacy and data security concerns and the risk of monitoring and surveilling children. Finally, the chapter offers practical recommendations for managers, teachers and policymakers.
